Today I had my first ever IUI. It was fairly easy. Knowing how it would play out helped. We got the office and our favourite nurse came out and said “there you are” to me and M and we were thrilled to have her doing the insemination. She told us she wasn’t supposed to but saw our name on the list and “they are mine” and changed it to her. She has been with us for the last 2 years and done every IUI and helped us through IVF.

I didn’t feel much pain, only pressure which hurt a bit but not enough to want to cry or anything. She got the catheter in place with the sperm in the end and asked M if she was going to push it in. Of course she said yes – she’s been all over the idea of that since the get go. Then it was done!

So we are cautiously, optimistically, calmly entering our TWW – the first TWW of me. I know the odds are not in our favour as IUI’s are only about 15% chance per cycle, but I still have hope!

Positive thoughts 🙂
